Frequently Asked QuestionsThis page frequently asked questions and their answers. It is updated periodically to include new topics. Do I have to be registered in the BSA to be member of the Lodge? Yes. Registration in the Boy Scouts of America is a pre-requisite for membership. Can I be a member of more than one Lodge? No. National policy dictates that you may only belong to one Lodge at a time. If you are temporarily residing within our geographic area and would like to participate while retaining your home Lodge's membership you may. When and where does my chapter meet? Depending on the district you live in, the answer is as follows:
How much are lodge dues and when are they due? As set by the Lodge Executive Committee in October 2005, lodge dues are $10 for the 2005 calendar year. Every member must pay annual dues in order to be considered active and to wear the lodge flap. What do I get for my lodge dues? Your lodge dues entitle you to wear the lodge flap, receive newsletters, and on certain events/purchases receive a discount. What if I decide not to pay my lodge dues? Members not in good standing are unable to attain higher honors in the Order, be considered for awards, and wear the lodge flap. Do I have to go through the Ordeal again if my lodge dues lapse? No. You may re-attain your membership at any time by paying your dues and providing proof that you were once a member (your Ordeal date or membership card is most often used for this). What is a Lodge? The Lodge is the local organization of the Order of the Arrow. Our Lodge serves the Pacific Harbors Council and encompasses it's entire geography. Who runs the Lodge? The Lodge Executive Committee runs the Lodge. Its membership is made up of voting youth officers and adult advisers. The Order utilizes a system that is youth run and adult advised. Each youth officer has an adviser to guide them through the process of their office. Where and when does the Lodge Executive Committee meet? The Lodge Executive Committee meets monthly on the second Monday of each month at the Tacoma Scout Office. The meeting begins at 7:00pm and ends between 8:00pm and 8:30pm. Officers living great distances away may inquire about calling in or joining the meeting remotely. How can I find out what went on at the Lodge Executive Committee Meeting? Monthly meeting minutes are published following approval at the next month's meeting. Contact the Lodge Secretary for copies of the minutes. Other Frequently Asked Question lists: |
