Chehalis ChapterWelcome to the Chehalis Chapter of Nisqually Lodge! We serve the Sasquatch District which ranges from Lacey to Centralia and from the Pacific Ocean to Mount Rainier. We have a total of six service units in the Chehalis Chapter. Head out to the one closest to you to get involved! We meet at:
February Chapter Report: (by Robert Barrett)Hi, my name is Robert Barret. I am the chapter chief of the Chehalis chapter. Eric Hegge is the deputy chapter chief of unit relations. And Simon Christianson is the deputy chapter chief of O.A. representatives. The Chehalis chapter covers an area of five counties: Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor and Pacific. The Chehalis chapter usually tries to open up possible new doors in the lives of our members. Previous activities that our chapter has participated in include scuba diving, veterinary practices (suturing a pig’s foot), rock climbing, and guest speakers representing a wide range of different areas of expertise. Currently our chapter is in a holding pattern due to the large amount of elections that must be completed throughout the entire area of our chapter. Though we do have activities such as real rock climbing, camping in eastern Washington, and scuba diving already on the ballet for potential activities in the upcoming year. January Chapter Report: (by Volk Sergojan)
Our Chapter had a great opportunity to provide service and earn money by participating in the Mount Rainier-to-the-Coast Relay Run last month. Participation in this event was organized by Randy Dutton of the Grays Harbor Service Unit. Arrowmen had the opportunity to act as race officials at checkpoints all throughout Grays Harbor County. Most shifts went from around midnight to 5 am, so we had to stay up all night. But it was actually a lot of fun to talk to the runners who ranged in age from their teens through their seventies. We had representatives of Army units, doctor teams, and many other groups represented. We earned a lot of money for our unit and made a good impression of O/A to a lot of people who did not know what O/A was before. Other Service Units should look into this opportunity next year for their areas. We are planning a Chapter-wide event, hosted by Thurston and Lewis County Service Units, but open to all Chehalis Chapter Arrowmen. It will be a trap Shooting Event at the Evergreen Gun Club in Rochester. We have a special price for 25 rounds (less than half the regular price) which includes use of a shotgun. We have the Club reserved from 10 am to 4 pm. We will provide some refreshments to participants. All Chehalis Arrowmen are invited to attend. This event will take the place of our regular monthly meeting for September which falls on Labor Day. Some of our members will also be attending the Section W-1A Conclave in Sisters, Oregon that weekend, and plan to stop at the Gun Club on their way home.
