Awards
Annually the Lodge bestows or nominates arrowmen for a variety of awards. These awards are presented at our Annual Lodge Banquet in January. The awards range from simple recognition to National issued recognition. Below are some brief descriptions or links to more information on the awards presented.
Nagatamen Award
The Nagatamen Award is the highest award that the Lodge bestows on its members. Recipients are easily recognized from the distinctive patch that you see to the right. Click here to find out more information about this award.
The Founders' Award
The Founders' Award is a Nationally issued recognition for those exceptional individuals that memoralize the spirit of our Founders, E. Urner Goodman and Carroll A. Edson. This award is considered by the Lodge Executive Committee annually and presented as appropriate. Find out more here.
The Distinguish Service Award
Presented by the National Lodge at each NOAC, the Distinguished Service Award is a rare mark of distinction that has been only bestowed on one of our arrowmen. Find out more here.
Leadership
In Service Award
Part of a three year campaign by the National Lodge, arrowmen have the opprotunity to receive recognition for giving back to our communities with service. The program runs from 2005-2007. Applications must be submitted no later than Lodge Banquet of the following year. Detailed information on this program can be found here.
The James E. West Award
While it is a National recognition, the James E. West Fellowship award is authorized and presented by the local Council. The award is named after the first Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America who exemplified Ralph Waldo Emerson's observation that "an institution is the lengthened shadow of one man." Scouting today is the "lengthened shadow" of more than three decades of the farsighted and dedicated leadership of James E. West. There can be no finer honor paid to a Scouter than to be named a James E. West Fellow, indicating that the nominee is in the same spirit and dedication to Scouting as was James E. West.
The Lodge considers awarding this fellowship annually.
